"We the Troy First Youth are committed to living life like Christ through serving others, being thoughtful, rejoicing loudly and encouraging others to know that they are loved."
At Troy First we love our youth and want to create a safe and fun environment for them where they can be themselves and have some fun and of course grow in their faith. So often today kids and teens are told what they cannot do more often than what they can do. However, Christ continually told us all that we are able to do now that we have him. We want to equip Youth and teach them that all things are possible with Christ who strengthens us. It’s not about what they cannot do but what amazing things they will do with God.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)
At Troy First Youth our goal is be the examples for young believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity and also show them in practical ways that they can live like that as well.
A relationship with Jesus Christ was never meant to be a bad thing. It is not about a bunch of rules that you HAVE to follow. A relationship with Christ is one that is joyous and fun. It is meant to put a smile on your face even when times get tough. School isn’t easy and people in the schools definitely are not easy, but remember Christ is our strength. We can be a Christ-follower and still have a fun life. It’s not about what we HAVE to do, but rather what we CHOOSE to do.
Our Youth Group meets on Wednesday Evenings throughout the year from 6:30-8:30 PM at First Place which is across from the Main Church building. It is time for us to gather with our friends and people our own age and relax, have fun, and chat about God. Our Youth Group is for all students from 6th Grade through 12th Grade. We all start off in the basement of First Place which is our Sr. High Room, and we have gathering time and then we move into an activity or game with the whole group. After the fun we move into some worship as a whole group and into our God time. We stay together for the message, but we split into our "Dive Groups” which are for deeper discussions on the message that night. We split into Jr. High and Sr. High Groups.
