Role Description: The Contemporary Worship Leader is a part-time, on-site role based in Troy, OH, responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the 9:30 a.m. contemporary worship service. This role includes selecting appropriate worship music, organizing song sets, and leading congregational singing, often in collaboration with a worship team or band. The Worship Leader will rehearse with musicians and vocalists, ensuring musical quality and smooth transitions during the service. Additional responsibilities include working with church staff to align worship themes with sermons, researching new worship songs and resources, and contributing to a welcoming worship environment that encourages active participation from congregants.

Has a heart for leading people in worship.
We are looking for a worship leader who can lead a congregation with authenticity, warmth, confidence, and humility….not simply perform on a stage.

Is musically strong and collaborative.
You should be comfortable leading a contemporary worship team, working with vocalists and musicians, arranging music, and helping others become better at what they do.

Builds people, not just programs.
We want someone who enjoys recruiting, encouraging, training, mentoring, and discipling volunteers. We believe a healthy worship ministry is built around relationships and developing people.

Is creative and willing to try new things.
We are looking for someone who can think beyond the typical Sunday morning service and help us explore creative worship experiences, special services, community opportunities, youth involvement, and other ways to engage people with the Gospel.

Can work well with others.
This person will work closely with our Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Director of Ministries and Administration, musicians, technical team, and other ministry leaders. We need someone who communicates well, listens, collaborates, and understands that ministry is a team effort.

Is organized and dependable.
Behind every meaningful worship experience is preparation. We are looking for someone who plans ahead, communicates clearly, prepares musicians and volunteers well, and follows through on responsibilities.

Is comfortable with technology.
Contemporary worship involves music, sound, lighting, projection, graphics, video, and other technology. You don't have to know everything, but you should be comfortable learning, working with our technical team, and using the tools necessary to create a quality worship experience.

Is humble and teachable.
We aren't looking for someone who has all the answers. We want a person who is willing to listen, receive feedback, grow, and learn alongside our congregation and ministry team.
